Kell Brook beat Carson
Jones on points in the hardest fight of
his career so far. Kell looked to be coasting to an easy win and stoppage as he
pounded Jones from all angles in the first 5 rounds. Jones wasn’t landing, but
was gamely walking forward somewhat impervious to Brook’s shots. In the sixth
round the fight changed and Jones swarming come forward style suddenly ruffled
Brook. He landed many big shots and had Brook hanging on towards the end. One
judge scored the fight a draw with the other two in favour of Brook, who now
will be looking to fight the winner of Alexander v Bailey for a World Title.
Brook went to hospital after the fight with a suspected broken nose, but with
his unbeaten record still in place.
